An average photographer won’t realize the creative potential of the lens and will produce a bunch of sharp subjects situated against a background of mush.

The Voigtlander is not only cheaper but better in just about every area of expectations from a modern hyper-corrected lens with the exception of chromatic aberration which the Leica seems to control better with less purple fringing - maybe. I have not, however, seen a side to side comparison by a skilled photographer which convinces me that one is truly better than the other in practice.

It is a niche product - if you are looking at this article to convince you of its merits, it's probably not for you… It is, I believe, targeted at those users who have extensive experience with B&W film but no longer have the patience or capacity for chemical development and printing.
